Implementing the Senior Tax Freeze
Councilman Ken Smith introduced legislation and helped work to pass a senior tax freeze that protects our seniors who have worked hard all their lives to build our community. As a result, qualified seniors, most of which live on fixed incomes, are protected from future property tax increases so they do not need to fear losing their homes due to inflation.
"Chattanooga's senior citizens deserve the choice to remain in their homes and neighborhoods for as long as they wish, and our senior property tax freeze is one of the most useful tools we have to make that possible. I’d like to thank Councilman Ken Smith for bringing this issue forward and ensuring its passage by the Chattanooga City Council.” |

Greenway Farms is just one of the many public spaces that we have available to us. Greenway Farms is a 180-acre park along North Chickamauga Creek in Hixson, TN. It features 6 miles of walking, running, hiking and biking trails. Greenway Farms also has 3 canoe access points, shade trees, and is an off-leash dog park.
And some exciting news is on the way - there is about to be a brand new event space going up to replace the current structure that was previously used as a conference center. Stay tuned for more details.
